No Child Left Behind needs to be at least fixed, if not repealed. We need to adhere to doing what the legislation is
intended to do for all children. This is not accomplished by standardized testing, unless you want your children to be standard. Focus on testing does not allow for the nurturing of different children's needs. Every child is different and we should foster creativity and abstract thinking and encourage children who are ahead of the curve to continue on that path. Only then can we be the innovative nation we once were.
We need to invigorate our children's creative thought process. The current method of educating our children is a linear system, teaching fundamental knowledge to our children in gradual steps. We also need to teach our children in a non-linear system of education, which can stimulate the naturally creative minds of our children. We can supplement with an education that teaches music and art, more advanced computer technology, world culture, geography, and in the high school we should teach civics, ethics and acceptance by broadening their
understanding of different people of different cultures.
Teachers need to be paid what they deserve. They also need the tools to do their jobs. I believe there should be a National Teachers Minimum Wage and benefits. There should be enough of a budget to supply for each classroom. Teachers shouldn't have to reach into their pockets or send request letters to parents for school supplies that should be there in the first place.
Our children are our future. It's that simple. We can do what is needed to ensure a bright future and a stable future for our country. It is essential. On Health Care On Education On Foreign Policy On Environment On Jobs
